Wndsn Quadrant Telemeter Tutorials
Making the most out of our graphical telemetry computers.
Like with many complex instruments, there are multiple ways to solve certain problems and to measure the required inputs. Combining the various functions leads to a multitude of advanced uses. See also the printed manual.
Telemeter Triangulation
If you have a map, and know the dimensions of landmarks in your range of observation, you can calculate their distance and thus determine your position by way of triangulation.
With the distances calculated on the Nomograph, we are drawing circles on the map around the objects measured. Our point of measurement, and hence our position, is at the relevant intersection of the two circles. (Note that of the two intersections of the circles, only one has the right object on the right, and vice versa.)
